3-Day Trips From Bangalore: 5 Places to Visit

Bangalore is well-known for its thriving start-up scene, pleasant weather, busy streets, and vibrant nightlife. The majority of Bangaloreans work nine to five jobs, and most of us just need a reason, and more importantly, time, to get away from our hectic lives. Taking a break from work and visiting these beautiful getaways simply provides solace in the midst of the chaos. When it comes to getaways, Silicon Valley is perfectly situated. You can visit places like Nandi Hills, Sakleshpura, Chikmagalur, Coorg, Coonoor, Udipi, and Ooty. The list is endless. Let me tell you about my favourite 3-Day Trips From Bangalore that you can take with your friends or family.

This is the list:

  • Coorg
  • Wayanad
  • Chikmagalur and Kemmanagundi
  • Hogenakkal and Yercaud
  • Kodaikanal

Let me tell you a little bit about these places so you can pick and choose.

1. Coorg

Coorg tops the list of destinations for three-day trips from Bangalore. Coorg is well-known among Bangalore residents for numerous reasons. It is easily accessible and a six-hour drive from the bustling city of Bangalore. It also offers an abundance of options for activities that can be engaged in on the spot. Additionally, Coorg is renowned for its verdant landscapes and coffee. Coorg or Kodagu is your favourite weekend getaway. Begin the day with Abbey Falls before exploring the coffee and spice plantations. And in the evening, enjoy the breathtaking sunset from Raja’s Seat. Bhagamandala and Talacauvery will be on the itinerary for the following day. Coorg is also recognised for its wildlife preserves. Coorg’s must-see locations are Talakaveri Wildlife Sanctuary, Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, and Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary. The temperature is always between 23 and 28 degrees celsius, and nights are typically chilly. Pack an extra sweater for the evenings. Additionally, you can visit the Golden Temple, the Buddhist Monastery, and the Dubare Elephant Camp to see Trained Elephants. Coorg is also known as the Scotland of India and Kashmir of Karnataka due to its year-round pleasant weather and lush vegetation.

2. Wayanad

This sliver of heaven is located in God’s own country. People tend to visit Wayanad more than once due to its majestic waterfalls, historical caves, expansive plantations, and abundance of wildlife. Wayanad, located on the western Ghats, is known as the Land of Paddy Fields.

Wayanad’s most popular tourist destinations are Chethalayam Waterfall, Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, Sri Mahaganapathy Temple in Thiruvangoor, Pookote Lake, Pazhassi Raja Museum, and Edakkal Caves. Wayanad’s neighbouring tourist attractions include the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, Karappuzha Dam, Tholpetty, Jain Temple at Sultan Bathery, Meenmutty Falls, Tiger Valley, Soochippara Waterfalls, Chembra Hills, Bird Sanctuary, and Thirunelly Temple. No wonder Wayanad is on our list of Bangalore 3-Day Trips.

3. Chikmagalur and Kemmanagundi

Chikmagalur is known as the Coffee Land of Karnataka. It is a four-and-a-half-hour drive from Bangalore. Chikmagalur, located in the lower regions of Mullayangiri Range in Karnataka, is renowned for its tranquil environment, dense forests, and magnificent mountains. A coffee enthusiast will enjoy strolling through one of the coffee estates. There are numerous options for trekkers, including the Mullayangiri trek, the Kemmanagundi trek, and the Baba Budangiri trek.

There are numerous locations here that can fulfil your needs. You can visit the Belur Temple and the Kodanda Rama Temple if you’re a history, religion, and architecture enthusiast. There is an opportunity for thrill-seekers to go boating on the Bhadra River. The Bhadra Life Sanctuary and the Jhari Waterfalls are must-visit destinations. From here, you can travel to Kemmanagundi to see the captivating Hebbe Falls and Kalhatti Falls. After visiting Mullayanagiri, the Kavikal Gandi Viewpoint, Baba Budangiri, and the relentless Manikyadhara Falls, return to Bangalore. For their movement journals, coffee enthusiasts should remember the Coffe Museum without a doubt.

4. Hogenakkal and Yercaud

From the list of Three-Day Trips Hogenakkal, one of the most beautiful places in Tamil Nadu, is a three-hour drive from Bangalore. This small town on the banks of the Kaveri River is peaceful and pleasant. Spend a day here and then proceed to Yercaud. Yercaud is dense with forests and coffee plantations. Visit Yercaud Lake or Emerald Lake, which are surrounded by slopes and have a delightful nursery on their shores. You can go boating by renting one of the numerous boats available. Next, visit the magnificent Killiyur Falls, which is also an enthralling hiking destination. Bear’s caves, which are close to Norton Bungalow, are another well-known attraction in this area. Pagoda Point provides a panoramic view of the city of Salem and surrounding areas. Visit the Botanical Garden to see the diverse plant life and the Silk Farm to learn about Sericulture or silkworm farming. Close your hike with Lady’s Seat and Tipperary View Point nearby.

Covered in fogs and surrounded by thick mists, Kodaikanal is beautifully located in the Palani Hills of Tamil Nadu and is ideal for a three-day trip from Bangalore. Kodaikanal, also known as the Princess of Hills, literally translates to The Gift of Forests. This is one of the hill stations in India that the Americans created. Due to its distance from Bangalore, you can either take a train or public transportation to get there, but the experience will be well worth it. Visit Bryant Park and the tranquil Kodai Lake on day one. Visit Devil’s kitchen, a massive collection of natural hollows located in the middle of the Pillar Rocks. Take a stroll along the Coakers Walk and try to observe the magnificent Pambar Falls. Spend your final day visiting the magnificent Bear Shola Falls, Silver Cascade, and Shenbaganur Museum. Moir Point and Dolphin’s Nose should be visited before returning to Bangalore. You can also include a strenuous and daring hike from Dolphin’s Nose to Echo Point. You can visit various locations, such as the Silent Valley View, Caps Fly Valley, and the Berijam Lake View. To make your excursion more energising, you can go horseback riding or cycling around the city while appreciating the undulating hills and lush forests.
