Day 1:
Rome
Welcome to Rome! Upon arrival at the airport, we will be waiting to transfer you to the hotel. you will meet your guide and transfer to the first night’s hotel in the city.
Day 2:
Rome – Assisi – Siena – Florence
We’ll begin our Best of Italy Tour bright and early with a 7:15am departure from your hotel in deluxe coach. First, we’ll travel to Assisi, an ancient town from the Middle Ages known for its towering fortifications. Here you’ll be free to explore on your own and discover the town of St. Francis. Take this chance to visit the Basilica, home to immaculate frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue. After lunch (own expense), we’ll depart Assisi and travel to Sienna, home to the 600 year-old horse race, the Palio. You’ll have time to explore the city and the Piazza del Campo, where the race takes place, before heading to Florence. We’ll arrive in the evening and enjoy dinner in the Cradle of the Renaissance.

Day 3:
Florence
After breakfast, we’ll have the entire day to explore the wonders of Florence. Wander its scenic lanes and lively plazas to discover its Etruscan-Roman origins, historic monuments, spectacular artwork, and incomparable architecture that shaped the Renaissance. Must-sees include towering structures like Santa Maria del Fiore, also known as the Duomo, and its magnificent dome built by Filippo Brunelleschi. From here, cross a small piazza to see the Campanile (partly designed by Giotto) and the Baptistery, with its bronze doors where Michelangelo imagined the Gates of Paradise. Journey into the heart of the city and encounter Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo della Signoria (also known as Palazzo Vecchio), and the Basilica of Santa Croce. We’ll enjoy lunch at a typical Tuscan restaurant in Piazza Santa Croce. Afterwards you’ll be free to stroll down the cobblestone streets of Florence on your own or take a short trip to Pisa (own expense), one of the four main historical Marine Republics of Italy. There, you will tour the Piazza dei Miracoli with the Duomo, Leaning Tower, and the Baptistery. You may also make use of your skip the line tickets to enter the Uffizi Gallery. Enjoy dinner on your own in the evening and a stunning night in Florence. .

Day 4:
Florence – Bologna – Padua – Venice
Following breakfast we’ll say farewell to Florence and travel to Bologna, an elegant city famous for its porticos, towers, and city center, one of the largest in Italy. Here we’ll travel through its lovely plazas, from Piazza Malpighi to Piazza del Nettuno and Piazza Maggiore (Neptune Square and Major Square, respectively). Along the way we’ll see King Renzo’s Palace, Palazzo Podesta, and the Basilica of San Petronio. Then you’ll be free to enjoy lunch (own expense), and you’ll be in for a real treat with a variety of amazing restaurants throughout the city. In the afternoon we’ll travel to Padova and visit Sant Antonio Basilica, one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites. Finally, we’ll arrive in Venice, the City of Love and one of the most stunning examples of Italian architecture.

Day 5:
Venice
After a scrumptious breakfast we’ll introduce ourselves to Venice with a private water-taxi ride through the canals to Piazza San Marco. From here we’ll use our skip the line tickets to visit St. Mark’s Basilica, an amazing example of Byzantine architecture, filled with amazing art from the gold mosaics to the mighty Horses of Saint Mark-Lysippos. Following our tour here we’ll visit two of the Floating City’s most iconic attractions, the Palazzo dei Dogi and the Bridge of Sighs. The rest of the day will be yours to explore Venice’s scenic canals and lanes on your own. Dinner will be served at the hotel. .

Day 6:
Venice – Tuscany – Rome
Once we’ve had one final breakfast in Venice we’ll say farewell and travel into Tuscany, a world-renowned region of rolling hills, amazing wineries, and charming towns. Here we’ll visit Montepulciano, an ancient medieval town known for its amazing art and Nobile wine. Take the day to explore this lovely town and sample the local wine houses (own expense), some of which offer them for free. In the evening we’ll return to Rome and check into our hotel.

Day 7:
Rome – Vatican – Rome
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at the hotel before we start our tour of the Vatican! We’ll leave between 7:45am and 8:00am to beat the crowds and utilize our skip the line tickets. First, we’ll enter the famed and invaluable Vatican Museums, home to the world’s finest art collections. Traverse the Galleries of Tapestries and Geographical Maps before explore Raphael’s Rooms. The final museum we’ll visit here is by far the most famous: the Sistine Chapel, home to Michelangelo’s Last Judgement. From here we’ll enter the largest church in the world, St. Peter’s Basilica! We’ll end our tour at St. Peter’s Square and you can spend the rest of the day exploring Rome on your own.

Rome
Your incredible tour of Italy ends at checkout.After you last breakfast in Rome we’ll transfer you to the airport for your departing flight.
