Day 1:
Rome
Welcome to Rome! A driver will be waiting at the international airport arrivals hall to take you to the first night’s hotel. Please be sure to provide details well in advance so that we may arrange airport pick-up accordingly. You will receive information about the start of the circuit during the afternoon, or you can check the informative panels in the hotel reception area.
Day 2:
Rome City Tour – Vatican City – St. Peter’s Basilica
On Day 2 we include a 2.5-hour hour scenic tour of Rome with a local guide. Highlights include the Caracalla Baths, Venice Square, Circus Maximus, and Capitoline Hill. The tour ends at the Vatican City, the principal center of Christianity. You will be able to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. In the evening we provide transfers to the Trastevere district for dinner (own expense).

Day 3:
Rome
Today after breakfast, you are free to explore Rome on your own. .

Day 4:
Rome – Loreto – Ancona
Departing Rome at 7:30 in the morning, we’ll cross the Apennines amid the gorgeous landscapes of the Abruzzo region. In Loreto we’ll visit the Basilica della Santa Casa (Basilica of the Holy House), and wander among the lovely medieval streets. Upon our arrival in Ancona, we’ll take a quick tour, then get ready for a ferry ride across the Ionic Sea. Overnight accommodations in double cabins with private bathroom facilities.

Day 5:
Igoumenitsa – Ioannina – Meteora – Kalambaka
We’ll arrive at Igoumenitsa in Greece at around 10 in the morning, then travel to Ioannina, a historic walled city on the shores of a lake. We’ll take a short boat trip to Ioannina Island, home to several monasteries. Later in the afternoon we’ll visit Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There you will have the opportunity to enter one of Meteora’s famous monasteries. .
Breakfast on board the overnight ferry is not included.
Day 6:
Kalambaka – Delphi – Athens
We’ll travel south through the Thessaly region, eventually arriving in Delphi, where we’ll have lunch at the beautiful archaeological complex overlooking the Gulf of Corinth. Then we’ll resume our journey to Athens, arriving mid-afternoon. Evening transfers to the Plaka quarter are included in your package.

Athens
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Athens, including the new town area, Panathinaikos Stadium, and the Acropolis.

Rome
Your incredible tour comes to an end at checkout.You can take the optional Airport drop off.
